On the 24th December 2013,The Governor of Rivers State,Rotimi Ameachi addressed the legionnaires and representatives of the Service Chiefs in the State for the 2014 Armed Forces Remembrance Day whose Emblem Appeal took place on tuesday at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre,Port Harcourt.The governor in his speech,addressed some critical issues on the state and the country at large. He was decorated by the state chairman of the Nigerian Legion,King (Col.) Philemon Omunakwe Chindah (rtd) who laudded him for identifying with Rivers legionnaires
