Nigeria Deports Two Female Hungarian “Vagrants” Who Arrived Murtala Muhammed Airport

The Federal Government has deported two Hungarian women to their country.
The duo had arrived Lagos on February 5, 2013 purportedly for tourism without any financial proof of sustenance for their period of stay.
The development came as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olugbenga Ashiru,  said the Federal Government was working to protect Nigerians in Diaspora, just as he maintained that the government would not back any Nigerian that breaks the law of another nation.
Ashiru said this while speaking with  reporters on Wednesday night at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos when he visited Lagos on official assignment.
According to him,  Nigeria has very cordial relations with most countries in Africa today and many continents of the world, noting that the bad perception about the country has reduced significantly.
His words: “We have also been able to make the point that you don’t stigmatise the country. There is no country without its own bad eggs, so Nigeria is not different from any other country. You cannot use the bad eggs to generalise the whole nation.
“I believe we are winning the campaign because we are now treated with respect, dignity, and that really, is what we have been fighting for and we will continue to do that. We will not stop to ensure that Nigerians are treated well anywhere in the world and for those who for one reason or the other are maltreated, we will make sure we also react to that and complain.
“At the end of the day, it is to make sure that our own citizens are treated well wherever they go but at the same time, I will plead with our own nationals too, be a good ambassadors of Nigeria, obey the rules and regulations of that country and at the end of the day, it pays to be a gentleman, go on your visit and you come back home.”
