The Lagos State Government has said that plans are underway to procure
hi-tech software vehicles to enhance traffic and transport management in
the state. Speaking at the workshop on traffic signalisation and
synchronisation, the Commissioner for Transportation, Comrade Kayode
Opeifa, said the move was to take transportation management from present
analogue to a more sophisticated and scientific based mode.
He
said the one-week workshop was aimed at sensitising state traffic
managers on rescue and incidence management, traffic signalisation and
synchronisation, road safety audit and hi-tech traffic management
systems.
The Commissioner stated that the plan to procure the
software vehicles necessitated the training of officers to equip them
with necessary knowledge and skills to utilise the equipment.
