ring; and a selection of jewelry crafted from the 550-
carat Letšeng Star, the 14th largest white rough
diamond ever discovered.
The original image, the idea of which originated from Mr
Graff's travels around the world carrying a suitcase of
Graff diamond jewelry, received international attention
and became a landmark promotion for Graff Diamonds,
founded in 1960.
'I recognized the importance of establishing the Graff
Diamonds brand globally,' he said at the time. 'Until this
time, images showing fine jewelry were typically
modeled in a more conservative style. This image broke

He was also awarded a Most Excellent Order of the
british Empire for Services in jewelry, one of the highest
honors awarded by the British monarchy.
