World Tallest Man,Sultan Kosen has gotten married *check pics*

We're today happy to announce that Sultan Kosen, the
world's tallest man, has married in a private ceremony in
the south-eastern city of Mardin in Turkey.
Standing at 8 foot 3 inches, the 30 year-old towered
over his new wife, 21 year-old Merve Dibo who
measures 5 foot 9 inches.
Sultan rose to fame in 2009 when he was recognised by
Guinness World Records as being the world's tallest
man.
On his first visit to London, UK, in September 2009 he
said that he hoped his newfound fame would change his
life, and help him find a wife: "It's really difficult to find
a girlfriend. They are usually scared of me. Hopefully
now that I'm famous I'll be able to meet lots of girls.
My dream is to be married."
In the two years that followed Sultan's life did change;
the exposure his record-breaking stature received saw
him benefit from free life-saving surgery to stop his
growth, specially tailored clothing and the opportunity to
travel the world. It was only on Sunday, however, that
he fulfilled his dream of getting married.
The couple met through a mutual friend. She travelled
from her home of Hasaki, in Syria, to his village Dede
köy in Turkey to meet him.
They only begun dating two months ago, but say they
knew immediately that they wanted to be together.
Sultan says: "When I looked into her eyes, I knew it was
love". Merve says: "At first everyone around me told
me not to marry him because of his height, but I fell in
love with his heart, not his height. His height doesn't
bother me at all."
The couple, who are Muslim, enjoyed a full wedding
party following Sunday's ceremony with over 1,500
guests, including a representative from Guinness World
Records and local dignitaries.
After the wedding the happy couple headed back to their
specially made home in Dede köy, where they say they
hope soon to have two children "god willing."

#VAB. Earthquake Hits Osun State Nigeria

Olobeide, a village in Ikeji- Ile, Osun State was recently hit by an explosion that sent old and young scampering to
safety. Two months after residents of the rocky
community are yet to get over the scare. Taiwo Abiodun
reports.
The cock had just crowed at 3 o'clock on September 23, a
Monday. The farmers and the traders who mainly
dominate this town knew at once that they should be
getting ready to set out for the day's work. Seconds later
came a massive explosion. The earth shook, the houses
vibrated. No one could have missed the impact.
By now everyone had woken up, asking the nearest
person what was happening. There was no precise
answer, only gesticulations that indicated nothing.
In twos and threes, the panicked residents stepped out of
their houses to ascertain what had happened. What they
saw next would only confuse them and terrify them the
more: water gushing from the top of the rocks and
cascading down. Trees were uprooted and flung away,
some over 100 meters.
Food and cash crops were not spared.
There was no need for further probing; the race for
survival had begun. Some fled into the bush: some just
kept running, to nowhere in particular. Some were
practically unclad. Mothers reached for their children, all
screaming and running at the same time.
The explosion had blasted off the top of the rock, leaving
a huge opening through which the water gushed out. The
base of the rock was littered with gravel.
Olobeide village has 12 mud houses and about 200
inhabitants who are chiefly farmers. It is nearly three
kilometers from Ikeji- Ile. The town is surrounded by
rocks which seem to be competing for space with one
another.

#VAB. I Never Attacked Any Priest – Sen. Chris Ngige

The senator and APC candidate in the November 16
Governorship election in Anambra State, Dr. Chris
Nwabueze Ngige has described as false reports that he
slapped a priest during Friday's burial ceremony of the
mother of the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev.
Paulinus Ezeokafor at Nanka in Orumba North Local
Government area of Anambra State.
Sen. Ngige noted that with Anambra State gubernatorial
elections were getting closer, all sorts of rumours would
be flying around.
He dismissed the unbelievable story through the Director
on Media and Publicity in his Campaign Organisation, Chief
Charles Amilo.
"Someone who was in All Progressive Grand Alliance
(APGA) once paid heavily to create the fiction that Ngige
was pelted with stones in Awka, but time and the flow of
information proved him wrong," Chief Amilo said.
"Ngige has nothing to do with what they are twisting, but
we do not blame opponents who are so afraid that they
would destroy the billboards of another and fabricate lies
against them.

Captured Boko Haram member says the sect have nothing to do with Islam

Bukar Modu, a detained Boko Haram member, said that the sect had nothing to do with Islam, as it was mainly involved in armed banditry, looting and killing of innocent people.
Modu, who was captured on Oct. 6 after the sect's early morning attack on Muslim worshippers in Damboa, Borno, said this in Maiduguri on Saturday.
He told reporters that the sect succeeded in attacking innocent people during their operations.
"We went on a mission to attack people in Damboa on Oct. 6, a few days to the last Sallah celebration.
"We shot many people but I was also shot in the leg during the operation; I later became unconscious.
"My people took me away at the end of the operation but they decided to dump me in a nearby bush because they thought I was dead.
"I regained my consciousness in the morning before I was apprehended by security agents, who provided food for me and took care of my bullet wounds,"he said.
Modu said that he was recruited into the sect by his cousin about a year ago.
"He used to keep his gun in our compound in Maiduguri. One day, he said that he was not comfortable with me being outside the sect because I knew all his secrets.
"He gave me two options: to either join the sect or be killed; so, I had no other option than to join the sect,"he said.
Modu said that he was given an"express training"on the handling of AK 47 rifle as soon as he joined the sect.
"We were always given orders to attack individuals without questioning until we finally relocated to Marte in Marte Local Government Area of Borno during the middle of this year,"he said.
Modu said that his group comprised about 150 militants, who took refuge in a nearby bush after the military invasion of Marte camp.
"We were kept in the bush by our commanders; sometimes, we survived on filthy water because we did not have access to safe water and we barely had something to eat,"he said.
Modu said that most of the"foot soldiers"of the Boko Haram sect had wanted to abscond but they could not do so because of the fear of being caught and executed.
"Our commanders usually conduct roll-calls on a daily basis to prevent anybody from running away; once you are caught, the penalty is death,"he said.
Modu said that many "foot soldiers", who tried to escape at the camp, were summarily executed.
"Any time we carry out an attack in a place, we steal food, drugs, money and everything we need.

"Sometimes, I feel guilty of committing crimes against God but our commanders always tell us that it is God's work that we are doing.

"It is a terrible thing to be a member of the sect but many foot soldiers like me cannot leave for fear of being killed,"Modu added. (NAN)

#VAB. PHOTOS Of Court Papers: Court Bans Brymo From Music Over Dispute With Chocolate City

Ex-Chocolate City singer, Olawale Ashimi popularly called
Brymo, has been banned from singing unless he returns

5 Fresh N35bn Pension Scam Uncovered At Head of Service of the Federation

A few months after the dissolution of the Abdulrasheed
Maina-led Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), another
stolen N35 billion pension fund has been uncovered at
the office of the Head of Service of the Federation
(HoSF).
The head of service, Alhaji Bukar Goni, was said to
have hijacked the payment of pensioners even before
the task team was unofficially disbanded.
The media consultant of PRTT, MrOlajide
Fashikun, who disclosed this during a press
conference, expressed shock that the nation's
economic saboteurs who were bent on
destroying the future of retirees resorted to using
falsified documents to defraud government to
the tune of N35bn.
LEADERSHIP FRIDAY gathered that 13 senior civil
servants linked to the fresh scam have been arrested
and are cooling their feet at the Independent Corrupt
Practices and Other Related Offences Commission
(ICPC).
When contacted, the spokesman of the anti-graft
commission, Mr Folu Olamiti, confirmed the arrest: "I
just confirmed that we have carried out a series of
investigations in that office. Specifically, we have been
going in and out of that office and have concluded
investigations and transferred some of those found
wanting to court."
Meanwhile, the media consultant to the PRTT who
cautioned Senator Aloysious Etuk to count him (Maina)
out of his political perils, as neither he nor the task
team has a prior knowledge of the petition to the EFCC
and ICPC entitled "Corrupt enrichment and acceptance
of N50,000,000 bribery, cars, landed property and
industrial equipment leveled against the chairman of
the Senate Committee on Pension and Establishment".
Fashikun, while responding to Senator Etuk's
allegations that he was the brains behind the over-
bloated petition by ShuaibuTeidi's lawyers, challenged
him to show proof of where he was named by the staff
and friends of the pension suspects.
He noted that it is the revealing nature of the petition
which has unraveled too many truths yet untold and is
seemingly too heavy for the senator and a few of his
friends to bear. He called on both anti-graft agencies
to urgently open up investigation.
He said, "The PRTT strongly believes that all this
accusation is in a bid to stave the two anti-graft
agencies from doing what they are statutorily
supposed to do when they open up the investigation.
In fact, this is why Senator Etuk and his colleague in
the committee, BabafemiOjudu, are screaming blue
murder. Even when they cannot eat in their houses,
the cause certainly must be Maina."
While recalling that he was muscled by a combination
of forces that are desperate to sustain and retain the
status quo ante of pension thieves, Maina stated with
equanimity that the senator's ordeals signifies that God
is at work.
He continued: "Why and why now did this come forth
and from the quarters it is coming? It is our firm belief
that facts laid out in the petition are too deep for
anyone who is not involved to have so delivered. This
is why investigative journalism should be upped to dig
and relate the unfolding events for the nation's good.
"The police, ICPC and EFCC should be interested. The
petitioners are alive. They are not hidden. Their names
were revealed with contact details. They should be
invited to help the nation get the truth, the whole truth
and nothing but the truth."

#VAB. PDiddy's Confessions: “My Father Was A Drug Dealer”

World famous star Sean (Diddy) Combs reflects on
his childhood making intimate and heartbreaking
confessions.
"My father was a drug dealer so I learned early in life
that there's only two ways out of that," he said in the
video segment "Confessions."
The piece aligns with the launch of Diddy's latest venture,
Revolt TV.
"I've never spoken openly about my father … but
launching @Revolttv moved me to share and let ppl kno
the truth," he tweeted Wednesday along with the video.
Diddy used Twitter to publicly reveal the truth behind his
father's passing.
"My father was killed when I was 3 yrs old," he wrote.
Although the celebrity was a little kid then and there was
no much time left for relationship with his dad, he
expressed how he still influenced his life.
"They say you can't miss something you never had, but
that's only a little ways right. There's definitely been times
as I've gotten older that I've missed my father - his
presence - not being here," he confessed.
"Not having someone to ask manly advice," he continued.
"The things that you would ask your father. Also things
that you would celebrate with him that would make him
proud."
While his father chose street life, Diddy took those lessons
and followed a different path.
"Sometimes you can't just answer why things happen but
I definitely think the route I went on - staying out the
streets and hitting my books and trying to be somebody -
I think he played a role in that," he added.
Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles retweeted Diddy's video
and wrote: "Your story is a MAJOR source of inspiration
for @SaintRecords and all the young black kids trying to
build and innovate. Bless!"
Before concluding his video confession Diddy, with tears in
his eyes said:
"My father's name was Melvin Combs and I'm Melvin's
son, Sean Combs."

#VAB. Girl commit suicide because of Facebook Row

A 17-year-old has committed suicide after her
parents restricted her use of her mobile phone and
social networking sites like Facebook, police said on
Thursday. The incident occurred late on Wednesday night after 17-
year-old Aishwarya S. Dahiwal had an argument with her
parents over using Facebook on her computer.
According to investigating officer G. H. Lemgude,
Aishwarya's parents had objected several times to her
using social networking sites and chatting long over the
mobile phone.
"Like all parents, their intentions were only to ensure that
the girl did not go astray. They advised her to concentrate
on her technical studies and stay away from long mobile
chats and social networking sites," Lemgude said.
After the argument on Wednesday night, Aishwarya went
to her room, penned a suicide note and hanged herself.
In the note, Aishwarya reportedly wrote that she had
been constantly prevented from using Facebook by her
parents.
"Is Facebook so bad? I cannot stay in a home with such
restrictions as I can't live without Facebook," her suicide
note said.
A note referring to the argument and Facebook is being
examined by police.
The Dahiwal family, comprising jeweller Sunil Dahiwal, his
wife and two sons are in a state of shock.
Experts say that there are almost always multiple causes
for a suicide, including psychiatric illnesses, that may not
have been recognised or treated.
Internet use remains low across India but is growing
quickly, expected to reach about 200 million online out of
the 1.2 billion-strong population by the end of 2013.
About three-quarters of India's high school students
prefer Facebook over phone calls to communicate,
according to a survey released in June by Tata
Consultancy Services.

#VAB. Many pastors and imams secretly come to me to consult Ifa – Ifayemi Elebuibon

In the lastest interview with him by Punch Correspondent.
The Question was do you think that you could one day be converted
to Islam or Christianity? And He answered with this comment "That one cannot happen. I have a deep understanding of the Bible and Quran and I also have a good
understanding of Ifa but I cannot renounce Ifa.
Christians and Muslims scare people with hell fire but I
want you to listen to my CD on who will go to hell fire.
They say that you will go to hell fire if you are not a
Christian or a Muslim, but I am not afraid of hell fire
because I am not a wicked person. I know what you can
do that will take you to hell fire and I don't do such
things. What will now pursue me to be converted to
Christianity or Islam? There is no problem that Ifa
cannot solve. A lot of Christians, even pastors and
Imams come to consult Ifa and use Ifa to solve their
problems. But because we believe in fidelity, it is
forbidden for me to start mentioning their names. It is
confidential just like medical doctors don't disclose the
ailments of their patients to just anybody. Pastors and
imams come to me and I prepare a lot of things for
them. I use my Ifa knowledge to solve their problems.
So, how am I supposed to go to them? Just this
afternoon, a leader of a church came here wearing a
native dress, you can't know that he is a pastor but I
know".

Earlier in the week, the news about town was that
veteran actor, Jide Kosoko was assaulted and beaten by
video club owners. It was said that the actor who is a
member of the Board of Trustees of the Video Rental
Operators of Nigeria was mediating in a crisis in the
association when he was assaulted and injured during a
fracas.
But the actor, in a telephone chat with Saturday Beats,
said he was never beaten.
Kosoko, who was reluctant to talk about the incident as
it was against his principle to grant t elephone interview
however said it was impossible for anybody to beat him
up.
"I was never beaten up. I am a member of the board of
trustees of the Video Rental Operators of Nigeria and
there was a crisis in the association. I was there to
mediate and find way to resolve the crisis. While that
was happening, there was a fracas with the video club
owners as they began fighting one another. Someone
threw a plastic bottled water and it hit me in the eye.
That was it," he said.
Confirming what her father said, Sola Kosoko said it was
impossible for anybody to beat her father up.
Sola said she heard about the story on the radio and
wondered how they came up with such story.
She said, "I heard about the news on radio but how
could anyone have beaten up my father? It is not
possible."

#VAB. Two Aeroplanes collide in Lagos

There was a minor accident on Friday at the Murtala
Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, involving a
Turkish Airline aircraft and a Max Air plane. The Turkish
Airline plane wings collided with that of Max Air plane
which had brought in Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia.
Saturday PUNCH learnt that the Turkish Airplane had
landed safely but was taxiing to stop at the airport's
apron when its wing collided with that of Max Air.
The collision resulted in minor damages to both airplanes
and sources said they had been taken away for repairs.
An online newspaper said the Spokesman, Nigerian Civil
Aviation Authority, Mr. Fan Ndubuoke, confirmed the
incident. He however said damages to the aircraft
belonging to both airlines were minor and that both
planes had been taken away for repairs.

#VAB. I have not seen Stella since 2011 - Ex-Husband

Ex-Minister of State for Works, Chief Chris Ogiemwonyi,
is the former husband to embattled Aviation Minister,
Princess Stella Oduah. When they went their separate
ways a couple of years ago, having Ogiemwonyi
removed as part of her surname became an issue
between them. To date, her names could still be gleaned
in some publications as Stella Oduah-Ogiemwonyi.
When Saturday PUNCH got across to the former junior
minister on the telephone on Wednesday in Benin, he
said he had not seen his former wife since 2011. He also
said he had nothing new to add to what is already in the
public domain about the car scandal.
He however did not offer any opinion regarding the
action of NCAA and his former wife's likely role in the
country's show of profligacy, saying both had not seen
since she became minister.
The former minister for state said Nigerians know of
what has been happening and that he had nothing to
say or add. He however empathised with her.
Said Ogiemwonyi, "What concerns me about her? We
have been separated and since she became minister, we
have not seen. You know the time when the issue of
dropping my name came up. We have not seen since
then. We all read comments in the papers, everybody is
listening and even the National Assembly, on the blogs;
they are all full. But all I can tell you is that I last saw
Stella in May 2011; that was when I saw her last. Since
she became minister, I haven't seen her. All I can say is
that I wish her well, but there is nothing more I can
say."
Asked whether he was not bothered about the
controversy generated by the minister's predicament, he
said that was the least of his problems.
Both Ogiemwonyi and Oduah were said to and become
friends when they were working for the Nigeria National
Petroleum Corporation. While the former husband was a
young engineer, Oduah was with the account
department of the oil corporation. Their friendship
blossomed and they later became husband and wife.
A blue-blood, Stella Oduah is the daughter of Igwe D. O.
Oduah, Akili Ozizo of Ogbaru in Anambra State. She was
born on January 5, 1962. After her studies at St. Paul's
College, Lawrence Ville, Virginia in the United States in
1983, Oduah joined the Nigeria National Petroleum
Company.
Speaking in an interview three years ago, Oduah
explained why she joined the government-owned
corporation.
She said, "I wanted to be in oil and gas, and I felt my
first leg should be in a national company and NNPC
happened to be the in-thing at that time. It was either
NNPC or banking and I just didn't go into banking. I
wanted oil and gas and so I was lucky I passed the
interview at NNPC and I went in."
In 1992, she floated Sea Petroleum and Gas with a
reported N200,000 bank facility. Her reason: "I don't
think I left NNPC to set up SPG.
"I left NNPC because I wanted to do something more
challenging. I left NNPC because I wasn't getting enough
job satisfaction. That's why I left."
A beautiful woman with a fearless gut that could make
so many men question their masculinity, Oduah's SPG,
with a dodgy track record, has become an octopus in
the oil and gas.

#VAB. Stella Oduah Denies Jerking Up NCAA’S Budget To Buy Bulletproof Cars

The Ministry of Aviation Friday denied newspaper
reports which alleged that Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah
jerked up the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority's budget
for the procurement of the controversial bulletproof cars
and other operational vehicles from N240 million to N643
million.
The NCAA also claimed yesterday that it had not fully
expended the amount of money being bandied around
as the cost of the vehicles.
In a statement in Abuja, Joe Obi, the Special Adviser on
Media to the Aviation Minister said: "The attention of the
ministry has been drawn to newspaper headlines
indicating that the Ministry jerked up the NCAA budget
for the procurement of operational vehicles from N240
million to N643 million.
"The statement was credited to Mr. Joyce D.
Nkemakolam, the Director of Aerodrome and Airspace
Standards and former acting Director General of NCAA.
It is shocking that the revelation was said to have been
made during Thursday's public hearing by the House
Committee on Aviation into the circumstances
surrounding the purchase of the security vehicles bought
by the NCAA.
"Throughout the duration of the hearing, there was
never a time Nkemakolam, who made the presentation
on behalf of the NCAA, or any other official of the
agency for that matter, said the Ministry increased or
jerked up the agency's budget.
"The hearing was conducted in the open before
television cameras and in the presence of journalists
from other media outfits. Anyone with evidence
supporting the statement credited to Nkemakolam to the
effect that the Ministry jerked up the agency's budget
can come forward with such."
The NCAA in a statement on its presentation to the
House Committee on Aviation said that since the
operational vehicles were being procured on a lease
agreement, "only the sum of N46,498,362 had so far
been committed to the cars. As at date, ownership, title
documents and spare keys of the vehicles are still with
First Bank of Nigeria."
Nkemakonam who made presentation said that payment
for the vehicles was structured to be made in
installments spread across 36 months.
He explained that payment for the vehicle was meant to
be done in 36 equal instalments, out of which only two
had been paid as at the 21st October, 2013.
The payment per month, Nkemakonam said, was N23,
249, 181.00 (the Toyota and armoured vehicles
inclusive) "which would amount to N116,245, 905.00 by
the end of year 2013. According to him, this total was
still below the appropriation for operational vehicles for
NCAA for 2013.
He said N240 million was approved by the National
Assembly in the 2013 Appropriation Act for operational
vehicles.
The House of Representatives had on Tuesday ordered
an investigation into the controversial purchase of two
bulletproof cars by the NCAA.
The vehicles allegedly procured for the Minister of
Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah had caused a lot of negative
reactions across the country.

After nine days with her abductors, Mrs. Augusta
Douglas-Ayam, sister of Special Adviser to the
President on Research, Documentation and Strategy,
Oronto Douglas, has been released.
Though it could not be immediately ascertained if any
ransom was paid, a statement by the family,
yesterday night in Yenagoa, said she was set free
unconditionally in the early hours of the day.
Mrs. Augusta Douglas-Ayam, who was seized by
armed men from her shop at Ogbia in Ogbia Local
Government Area of the state, according to the
statement, is currently receiving treatment at an
undisclosed hospital.
The statement read: "After nine traumatic days in the
hands of abductors, our beloved sister Augusta
Douglas-Ayam was this morning unconditionally
released to the family.
"We thank God for his protection and intervention.
We also thank Nigerians who, through prayers and
words of encouragement, supported us throughout
this ordeal.
"Our sister is currently in a hospital receiving
treatment.
"We will not be making any further statements on
this issue and wish to put it behind us."
Head of the family, Mr. Romeo Douglas, had last
week pleaded with her captors to set her free on
humanitarian grounds due to her poor health.
He had said: "We do hope and pray that those who
have kidnapped her will give her the best of
treatment deserving of any human being and envision
also that they will have a rethink over the matter and
release her to reunite with us as a family."

Woooow!! Michael Jackson Named World’s Richest Dead Celebrity!!

Michael Jackson has topped the list of the highest
earning dead celebrities. This is the third time in the past
five years that the top-earning celebrity in the world has
come from the graveyard.
After being pushed into second place by Elizabeth Taylor
last year, Jackson, who died in 2009, was back on top
with estimated earnings of $160 million in the 12 months
from October 2012 to 2013.
"He earned the bulk of his bucks from two Cirque du
Soleil shows, his Mijac Music catalog, recorded music
sales and his half of the Sony/ATV publishing empire –
which includes the copyright to hits by the Beatles, Lady
Gaga, Eminem and Taylor Swift, among others," Forbes
said.
Presley was a distant second with $55 million, followed
by Schulz, the creator of the Peanuts comic strip, who
came in third for the second consecutive year with $37
million.
Taylor dropped to fourth place with earnings of $25
million, a huge dip from last year when her estate pulled
in an estimated $210 million with much of it from the
auction of her jewels.
Reggae star Bob Marley rounded out the top five with
earnings of $18 million. The singer, who died of cancer
at the age of 36 in 1981, has sold more than 75 million
albums in the past two decades, according to Forbes.
Nobel-prize winning physicist Albert Einstein, dropped
one place to No. 8 this year with earnings of $10 million,
while Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera, who died in
a plane crash in December at the age of 43, was new to
the list at No. 13 with $7 million.
Forbes compiled the list by talking to estate managers,
lawyers and licensors and analyzing estimated
posthumous earnings between October 2012-2013.

Brymo To Pay N22M Or Remain At Chocolate City Till 2016

Contrary to the news circulating in the early hours of
today that Chocolate City didn't get an injunction
against Brymo's Merchants, Dealers and Slaves album
and also stopping him from further recording tracks
that might be released to be promoted.
Brymo said and I quote – "Pls disregard any news
about an injunction on my new album M,D&S, it's all
untrue.. Just a ploy to disrupt my release as usual.."
A source at the Chocolate City re-affirmed that there is
indeed an injunction against Brymo and any plan he
has till he fulfills his contract with Choc city. Our source
also told NaijaMp3s that Brymo has 2 albums left in his
contract with Chocolate City which expires in 2016.
Brymo has been served the injunction notice and he is
now wanted by the court for compromising his contract
with the recording company.
The law firm consulting for Chocolate City have also
included a buyout clause for Brymo which is set at 22
Million Naira. Brymo has been asked to play out his
contract with Choc city or simple just activate the
buyout clause of 22million Naira which was also
confirmed by our source at chocolate city who confirms
Choc city boss, Audu agreed to, in order to resolve the
issue.
When we asked our source why Jesse Jagz wasn't
served an injunction when he released his "Thine
kingdom Come" album was released; NaijaMp3s was
told that Jesse's contract with Chocolate city was over
and it was easy for Jesse Jagz to quit the label without
any problem.
It should be recalled that during Brymo's press
conference he told reporters that his lawyers couldn't
get him out of the problem he was in with Chocolate
city and that was why he had to come out to the
public.
We hope this doesn't get escalated than it already has
and hopefully Chocolate City and Brymo would settle
their differences so we can all enjoy good music that
Brymo provides us with.

Evander Holyfield's 109-room mansion for Auction

The famed 50,000 square foot mansion, Villa Vittoriosa,
Georgia's largest single-family residence, which was occupied
by boxing icon Evander Holyfield up until last year, is hitting
the auction block between November 11 and 13, reports
Auction.com.
Holyfield, who purchased the palatial estate located outside
the Atlanta area that sits on 105 acres, lost the residence to
foreclosure last year because he could not satisfy a reported
whopping debt of $14m. A bank purchased the property for
$7.5m and afterwards, allowed the former champ to remain
there for a short time until he could organise his belongings,
many of which he auctioned off to raise money for his debts.
Holyfield has struggled with financial woes over the years
that he just could not fight his way out of, including child
support nonpayment issues for his 11 children, alimony
troubles, bad money management moves, failed businesses,
IRS debts and lawsuits. The Real Deal, who is a former
undisputed world champion and the only four-time world
heavyweight champion, winning the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles,
made a reported $200m in his nearly 25-year-long boxing
career.
Now Holyfield's former home, which has even been featured on
TV shows and movies, will be up for grabs at just a fraction of
what it is worth with an opening bid of just $2.5m.
The 109-room home, which is just 1,000 square feet shy of the
presidential White House, features 12 bedrooms, 13 full
baths, eight half baths, five family rooms, three kitchens, a
recording studio, boxing gym, movie theater, library and
indoor bowling alley.

Stella Oduah seeks audience with President Jonathan

The embattled Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, has
commenced last- ditch efforts to save her job.
The PUNCH learnt on Sunday that she had used the last few
days seeking private audience with President Goodluck
Jonathan.
On Friday for instance, she was sighted at the Presidential
Villa in Abuja as calls by groups for her removal over the
purchase of two BMW bulletproof cars for her by the
Nigerian Civil Aviation authority heightened.
The NCAA spent a whopping $1.6m(N225m) on the two cars
which market value is N36m each.
A very reliable Presidency source, who disclosed Oduah's visit
to the Villa, said she "wanted to explain herself to the
President, who like every Nigerian, was embarrassed by the
media reports and the evidence of the purchase of the two
cars at an outrageous sum of N225m."
The source said, "She was here (Villa) on Friday but like you
know, Mr. President was busy throughout the weekend."
When asked if Oduah eventually saw Jonathan, he replied, "I
cannot tell for sure if the minister who looked worried saw
him or not."
However, the source dismissed speculations that Oduah, who
is to appear before the Senate this week over the crisis facing
the Aviation industry, was at the Villa to beg the President to
prevent possible sanctions.
He stated that should she decide to beg, she would most likely
reach out to highly placed Nigerians who have the ears of the
President.
The source mentioned the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic
Party Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih; former President
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; and Ijaw National Leader, Chief
Edwin Clark, as such prominent Nigerians.
Our correspondents gathered that apart from the calls from
outside government circle for her sacking, some of her
colleagues are believed to be telling people close to her to
advise her to voluntarily quit in order to save the Jonathan
administration further embarrassment.
A female minister is said to be leading the campaign as she
sees this as an opportunity to get even with Oduah.
It was learnt that a female minister, who allegedly bought a
private jet, has been angry that Oduah was the prime suspect
in an embarrassing publication involving the leasing of the jet
at outrageous sums per trips made by top government
officials.
Investigations also revealed that the release of the
documents on the purchase of the two vehicles was likely the
fallout of infighting among female ministers in the President's
cabinet.
Meanwhile, strong indications emerged on Sunday that the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission may probe the
bulletproof car scandal.
A source at the EFCC said the scandal came as a shock to
most of his colleagues.
The source said, "Like you and all other Nigerians, it is natural
that all of us are shocked by what happened. I think you
should hold it there until events unfold."
The Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters,
Ahmed Gulak, had in an interview with one of our
correspondents, assured Nigerians that the President would
not shield the minister if found culpable.
He had said, "I can assure you that President Jonathan will
not shield the minister or any government official for that
matter if he receives information that is true."
Meanwhile, Ms. Oduah is expected to appear before the
Senate as the Senate resumes plenary on Tuesday.
The Senate had summoned her and heads of parastatals under
the Aviation ministry over the air accidents in the country.

Jeta & Mbong Amata have separated after almost 10 years together

For all the fans of Jeta and Mbong Amata, I am about to break
your hearts. The prolific movie director and his beautiful
actress wife of five years Mbong Amata, 28, have separated.
They have actually been separated for about a year now but y'all
are just hearing about it. And from what I gathered Jeta and
Mbong didn't fight, they just decided to let each other go.
Jeta met Mbong when she was only 16 years old in Calabar in
2001 during a movie audition. He waited for her to mature and
they started dating when she turned 18 two years later. In
2008, they welcomed a daughter, that same year, Jeta married
Mbong. They later moved from their base in Abuja to Los
Angeles so Jeta could work on his movie projects.
Continue to read why they broke up…so heartbreaking for such
a young couple and maybe there's a lesson to be learnt here…
Here's what I heard happened between them. Mbong met Jeta
when she was so young, married him and became a mother in her
early twenties. She is a former beauty queen (Miss Akwa Ibom
2003) and her dream was to be an actress. Jeta didn't mind his
wife being an actress but he didn't want her featuring in
Nollywood movies, so he restricted her.
Mbong, some of you may have noticed, only featured in Jeta's
movies. And because she met Jeta so young, Mbong didn't get a
chance to date other men, never partied and until they
separated, never earned a living on her own. She relied on Jeta
for everything.
When they moved to the US, it became a little worse for Mbong.
She became lonely and instead of being the star actress she's
always dreamed of, she became a housewife, caring for Jeta
and their five year old daughter. Mbong became resentful and
left Jeta in 2011 and returned to Nigeria. Jeta went after her
and they reconciled after Jeta promised to give her a bit more
space to pursue her dreams.
Jeta tried to live up to his promise, but as an African man, just
couldn't compromise much and so last year Mbong wanted out of
the marriage and Jeta let her go. Mbong and Jeta have been
living separately in Los Angeles for about a year now. When I
asked if there was any hope for reconciliation, my source told
me 'it's only a matter of time before they file for divorce. They
have moved on and the love is no longer there. Mbong is very
happy now that she can do whatever she wants without a
husband to stop her or tell her what she can or can't do"
I've known Jeta Amata for a long time, since the 90′s in fact
and so before writing this I reached out to him to get his own
side of the story, and because we are friends, Jeta opened up
to me.
He confirmed that they have indeed separated & partly blamed
himself for the break up. He told me;
"Mbong is an amazing mother, an incredible wife…all the time we
were together she would never let any other person cook my
food…she was faithful and good to me and gave me the best gift
in the world, our beautiful daughter. If I didn't cage her so
much maybe we would still be together.

ASUU strike: FG AGREES to spend N200 billion on universities yearly

In an effort to end the ongoing ASUU strike, the Federal
Government has said it is committed to spending N200
billion in the 2014 budget on universities in Nigeria for
about three to four years until the universities are brought
to world-class standard. This is in addition to the N100
billion dedicated and already made available for 2013.
The government has also increased to N40 billion as a first
installment for the funds in payment of earned allowances
to the striking lecturers, which is an improvement from
the N30 billion previously released.
According to sources, the information is s contained in an
internal statement made by the Vice-
Chancellor, Professor Bolaji Aluko of Federal University
of Otuoke and was seen on Wednesday by Sahara
reporters.
Reports say:
On the earned allowances, he explained, "Government will
top it up with further releases once universities are
through with the disbursement of this new figure of N40
million, so Vice-Chancellors are urged to expedite this
disbursement within the shortest possible time using
guiding templates that have been sent by the CVC," the
circular said.
Professor Aluko said the development followed meetings on
September 19 and Oct 11 of representatives of the
Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities,
led by CVC Chairman, Prof. Hamisu of ATBU and ASUU
Representatives led by its President, Dr. N. Fagge with the
Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Arc.
Namadi. Sambo, Minister of Education Barr. N. Wike and
others.
Of great interest to stakeholders, Vice-President Sambo,
appealing to ASUU to call off the strike, apologized for
the "take-it-or-leave-it" comments credited to the
Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala at the onset
of the strike. The Minister did not seem to have been
involved in either meeting, perhaps as the government's way
of soothing the feelings of the university teachers.
Other points of agreement at the meetings include the
following:
Project Prioritization: Universities will now be allowed to
determine their priorities and not be "rail-roaded" into
implementing a pre-determined set of projects with
respect to the NEEDS assessment. Decisions are not to be
centralized.
TETFund Intervention: Government assured that the
operations of the TETFund will not be impaired, and that
the regular TETFund intervention disbursement to
Universities will continue, unaffected. So the NEEDS
assessment capital outlays are in addition to regular
TETFund intervention.
Project Monitoring: A new Implementation Monitoring
Committee (IMC) for the NEEDS Assessment intervention
for universities has been set up to take over from the
Suswan Committee. The new one is under the Federal
Ministry of Education and chaired by the Honorable
Minister of Education. In addition, to build confidence and
ensure faithful implementation and prevent any relapse as
before, the Vice President will meet quarterly with the
IMC to monitor progress.
Blueprint: ASUU was mandated to submit a blue print for
revitalizing the Universities to the Vice President.
Prof. Aluko further stated that a signed document will
soon be issued to itemize the full issues on which the
consensus he had outlined here, as brokered by AVCNU,
was reached.

Nigerian Maritime Sector: The Wayforward and The Impact of NIMASA

There has been a lot to say about the blessed country called Nigeria. We are blessed with brilliant people who chose seafaring as their career.Due tothe love of the career,Some who are opportuned have been able to sail the whole shores of the world.NIMASA has a major stake in the Nigerian Maritime sector. Federal Government owned the Maritime Academy of Nigeria,0ron and they have tried their possible best to make sure the Cadet officers are enjoying and learning according to IMO standard. The Only thing left to be achieved is the Cadets' career;which needs proper attention.Cadets stroll through the street of lagos, portharcourt and warri for placement.A lot of people are discouraged because of this sole reason.NIMASA can enforce it on maritime companies that any vessel working or sailing on nigeria terrestrial waters must have at least 6 Nigeria cadets.NIMASA is really trying as par cadet sponsorship like the NSDP but they should also consider those ones that went through the maritime academy also because most people that got the NSDP knew nothing about the maritime sector. We love sailing and Nothing can stop us from achieving our childhood dreams

Family of student killed in Cyprus demands justice

The family of a Nigerian student, Gabriel Soriwei, who was
killed in the North Cyprus city of Nicosia, has cried out to the
Federal Government to assist the family in getting justice for
the slain boy.
Gabriel, 20, a first year student of Electrical/Electronic

As a result of the impact of the accident, he fell into a coma

His father, Patrick Soriwei, who had petitioned President

the reality of the painful loss of their child, his death raised
some issues about the value placed on the life of Nigerians

least write to the family to "condole with us on the death of
this young man, who until his death, was contributing to the
economy of Cyprus by paying school fees as a foreign student.
"I also find it unjust that the Cyprus authorities are hiding
the identity of the woman, who killed our child, from us. The
Cyprus police have insisted that it is the practice to ensure
that such a person was shielded from the family of the victim."
The bereaved father said he had been informed during a visit
to Nicosia by the Turkish police that the female driver had
lost control of the vehicle, which knocked down Gabriel.
Investigations had revealed that she was under the influence
of alcohol at the time.
The woman was said to have been detained for three days
before she was released while no further action had been
taken on the case by the Turkish authorities since the woman
was released.
The university, which reportedly plays host to about 700
Nigerian students, has allegedly not shown any interest in the
case. Despite several entreaties by the family to the school
authorities, Gabriel's belongings have yet to be sent to
Nigeria.
The father added, "Although, the Nigerian Embassy in Cyprus
is aware of the incident, it does not seem to see the need to
defend the rights of Nigerians there as a priority.
"The best the Nigerian Mission in Ankara has done was to send
one Uche to the university to find out the cause of the death.
The Mission has not rendered the necessary assistance in
getting the police to write a report on his death. This delay in
writing this report, we believe, is inspired by a plot to subvert
the process of justice in this matter.
"We intend to pursue this matter to a logical conclusion. We
also urge the Federal Government and all Nigerians of good
conscience to come to our aid in our search for justice. The
life of a Nigerian child should be treated more decently than
that of a stray animal."
When contacted, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, Mr. Ogbole Ahmedu-Ode said he could not comment
on the issue because, "It has yet to be brought to my
attention."
